My research
I am currently a Ph.D. student at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). However, I do my research at the University graduate center (UniK), located at Kjeller, not far from Oslo.
The working title of my Ph.D. thesis is Integrity and redundancy of integrated inertial navigation systems. Here's a brief description of the topic:
Integrity is defined as the ability of a navigation system to provide timely warnings if and when a system or sensor measurement should not be used. For applications critically dependent on navigation data, navigational integrity is the key issue determining mission success.
The PhD thesis will focus on an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) navigation system for long endurance and mainly submerged operation. However, other apparent uses of the developed techniques and methods will be taken into account, for instance navigation systems for dynamic positioned offshore vessels.
